چکیده
..................................................................................... The “Agile Eye” is a high-performance mechanism capable of orienting a camera within a workspace larger than that of a human eye and with velocities and accelerations larger than those of the human eye. The mechanical design, control issues, and experimental results are presented.

متن کاملMotion perceptibility and its application to active vision-based servo control
In this paper, we address the ability of a computer vision system to perceive the motion of an object (possibly a robot manipulator) in its field of view. We derive a quantitative measure of motion perceptibility, which relates the magnitude of the rate of change in an object’s position to the magnitude of the rate of change in the image of that object. We then show how motion perceptibility ca...
متن کاملSurgical and Interventional Robotics: Part III: Surgical Assistance Systems.
Part I of this tutorial described two broad paradigms of interventional assistance: surgical computer-aided design (CAD)/computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and surgical assistance. Part II focused on the underlying concepts of surgical CAD/CAM, with a particular emphasis on percutaneous procedures. This final installment of our three-part tutorial series discusses surgical assistance. In this s...
متن کاملNew Trends in Prototyping for Robotics and Automation
Recent developments in several emerging fields enable us to think of the fields of prototype for robotics and automation in new ways and to consider new applications. Today, besides introducing the intelligence directly into equipments/systems through embedded microcomputers and providing virtual prototyping through enhanced CAD/CAE facilities, information flow has been well regarded as an esse...
متن کاملDesign lessons for building agile manufacturing systems
This paper summarizes results of a five-year, multidisciplinary, university-industry collaborative effort investigating design issues in agile manufacturing. The focus of this project is specifically on light mechanical assembly, with the demand that new assembly tasks be implementable quickly, economically, and effectively. Key to achieving these goals is the ease of equipment and software reu...
